They laughed when I sat down to trim...

I wasn't getting any respect down at the GSBF Convention workshop this past weekend. Sure, my trees looked decent, and I knew which end of the concave cutters to hold, but the bonsai groupies just wouldn't give me the time of day. They all prefered to hang around folks like Walter Pall and Shinji Suzuki, fawning all over and asking for pins and autographs on their aprons. It was a disgusting spectacle. I guess it was their accents or something.

Anyway, it was clear, I needed a miracle, and I needed it fast. Right then, came an answer to my prayers. a discovery that literally changed my life!

GOLD BONSAI SHEARS!

How could I have gotten by so long without them? I just pull a pair out of my toolbox and you could hear a needle drop from a black pine. Silent admiration. A couple of people who wouldn't talk to me before came over just to ask if they could hold them. ( I said, "No way! Get your own!") Shinji wanted to know my name. Walter Pall even asked for my autograph!

Finally I have the respect I deserve, and you deserve it, too. Run, don't walk, cause they're goin' fast:
