It's Frankfort.

We could ask the question, how do you pronounce the capital of Missouri? Saint Louie or Saint Louis? The answer is Jefferson City.

It's not as much fun when people know the answer, is it? But I used to get a lot of kids with that one when I was . . . well, rather younger than I am today.

Another one that could be fun but which people often get right is this one about an air disaster:

A plane takes off from New York City en route to Los Angeles, with passengers from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and California on board. in mid-flight, a catastrophic mechanical failure kills power to all engines. The plane crashes on the state line between Oklahoma and Texas. Where is the most appropriate place to bury the survivors: In New York, where the flight originated, in California where it was headed, in either of Oklahoma or Texas, or in their respective home states?

(It's a easier to get that one when you read it as opposed to when you just hear it, but actually a disappointingly large percentage of respondents get it right even when just hearing it.)
