Can you beat 20Q?

Just for a bit of fun, the online version of 20Q, is a very clever computer program that will ask you questions on any subject and then try to guess what you are thinking of.

Now try thinking "BONSAI" and answer the questions as honestly as possible from the multiple choice format.

I've beaten it twice, with guesses from it such as:
TOBACCO PLANT, PINE CONE, DRUGS!!!, PETRIFIED WOOD (getting warmer)then SEASHELL !

The beauty of the software is that it should learn by its mistakes, so at some point, the more that try to beat it - the more difficult it will be.

After that, think of other things etc... and give that a go.

It is very clever on some things.. weak on others....

btw, the computer didn't manage to guess the word bonsai, I'm trying to teach it to recognize it now.

hm, third try still no luck, wonder how your questions and answers differ from mine...

Ha, fourth try did it for me got it on Q20.
fifth try on Q26 and on the 7th on Q20 again, 8th Q20 and 9th Q26

One of the leading questions seems to be;

Q:Would you use it in a garden?
A: YES
vs.
Q:Would you plant it in a garden?
A: NO

If it manages to ask those two, it gets it on 20, if not a bit later....

Wow Paul,

It has learnt that in just a few hours.

After several attempts earlier, the nearest I got it to was "Tree".

At the end I filled in the "What were you thinking of" box with "bonsai", so guess it now knows what it is.

Still very good fun for anyone who has not tested the "machine" before.
