I also noticed a small serissa on the receptionists desk of a commercial for a local dentist, and some behind William Shatner in a Priceline commercial.

Are you sure Jason Bourne is his proper name? They do tell you his real name in the movie (one small problem is that I cannot remember it).

I was watching the movie Aeon Flux last night, and there is a brief bonsai cameo in the middle of the movie. It's on a shelf in the background when Aeon enters Trevor Goodchild's lab.

Bonsai in Movies Mr. Baseball strikes out

With all due respect to this Feb 2007 posting, I've just watched a VCR copy from the local library and no bonsai or suiseki were seen. There was a sculpted ground-planted tree near the entrance to Mr. Uchiyama's garden, in the restaurants there were small modern-style ikebana on several of the tables, in Elliot's apartment and Uchiyama's house there were some small ordinary decorative plants in containers on the floor. No bonsai were seen in Uchiyama's garden or at the shrine Hiroko and Jack visited. No suiseki were obvious to me in any of the domestic or business settings. Yes, this is a recommended movie for the accurate depiction of the attitudes of the people involved, but unfortunately I saw no reason to add this title to the "Boldly Grow" listing of bonsai and related artforms -- fake or real -- in movies and TV.

Respectfully,

Thumbs down

There has been some gab on the martial art grapevines that a karatekid remake is in the do. Wonder what the new Mr. Miyagi will be working on when the new Danielson meets up with him. Oh yeah, Will Smith and son are said to be starring in the film.. .

I say BOO!! THE MOVIE WAS PERFECT THE WAY IT WAS!
