i repotted a large pomagranate on sunday. the tree was collected in the field by me 21 years ago and has plenty of roots....but
like a dummy i potted it too high in the pot and didn't really notice until just now. i would like to repot it again this sunday. will the tree be ok if i repot it again in a week?? i won't be doing any root pruning or other work, just out of the pot, lower the soil level, then back in the pot again. thanks for your collective insight, bob k |

If it hasn't begun to leaf out it should not be a problem to repot it. If it has, you take your chances. Whenever you repot it is a good idea to trim the root tips slightly and cleanly with a sharp pair of shears.
Do you have a picture? We'd certainly like to be able to appreciate the improvement that the repotting offers. Maybe you could even do an article on it for the Article contest. See the contest forum. Regards, Matt

bobk,
Matt gives good advice. I bet it has leafed out as all mine have. You might be sorry if you disturb it again now. YOu could get 400 opinions if you bring it Sunday to the San Diego Bonsai club. Laugh! Private message me for infor if you need it. ---Nut

Not that I've dealt with this before, but wouldn't adding a little moss do the trick (cover more root) for display purposes without having to rerepot? Or do I just not get it ...
I second the motion for pictures ![]() pootsie |
