Nursery to bonsai pot

Last summer I bought a 1 gallon juniper at the local nursery. I wired and styled it but did not repot. I plan to do a rewire of the tree, but sould I rewire first then repot into a large bonsai pot or vise versa? Or sould I just do one of them?

I'm no expert, but once you finish repotting the tree you want to disturb it as little as possible until the roots have a chance to take hold (a few weeks' time), so I would do whatever wiring & pruning you want to do beforehand.

Good answer.

wiring can and will strees you trees too, but if you have done it already, the second time around shouldn't be as much stress.

i would only di one or the other for a single season. Either repot it and allow it the season to recoupe, or style and wire it and then allow it to rest before repotting next year. If ou try to do both in a single season, then you are going to stress the tree out and it's chances for a healthy recovery will be compromised.

What species of Juniper are you talking about? Procumbens? You could repot and light wire at the same time but do the wire first. The same for any of the Chinese Junipers. The other Junipers should be approached more cautiously, they are slow to recoup.
