Horse Manure Tea?

ok i've heard of using compost tea and tonics, could you use horse manure or compost to make a tonic to fertilize bonsai trees?

Hi,
I have no experience with manure tea. I do know that Craig uses Llama tea for his trees and is very happy with it. I know he is not available at the moment but will check with him and try and give you a more complete answer, at least with regard to Llama's, and manure tea!

I use a wound dressing that is a combination of diatemaceous earth and manure. It is a powder, mix with water. Smells foul and you have to reapply, but trees love it.

I don't appreciate your sarcasm. If I had an answer I would have given it to you.

There is a high volume of threads here but if you can point to a thread that goes unread for a day, That would be very unusual.

Yes. Please post at IBC and GardenWeb if you aren't getting the results you are looking for here. Posting on two boards here is redundant; it's inconsiderate, wastes time and energy, and confuses those who do want to help you.

Regards,

Matt

Whidn, As of this answer your thread has been read 57 times. Assuming you are half the count... a bit high but... that gives about 28 other hits on this thread..... not read?

Sometimes answers take a while.... sometimes there may not be an answer! But if you post to the wrong board, Matt very often moves the thread to the correct place. This is a good, no great, forum with many knowledgeable peole......

Sometimes there just is no one who is around who can answer you question.... it happens........

Patience is the most important tool we can acquire in our efforts to 'Do Bonsai'.

I checked with Craig on the use of Manure.... In his opinion, horse or cow manure can be used in a tea if....a big if... it is allowed to compost for a while. In its raw state it will burn your trees, even as a tea! I would find someone who is doing it already and find out the magic... wait time... by the way you are up to about 70 views!!!
