I just buy a large bag of pine bark mulch (not pine nuggets) and sift it. Its cheap enough and what is too fine/course I use as landscape mulch.
The only lava rock I've been able to get is from Bonsai Monk. I only use this for tree in bonsai pots. For growing I use Brent's nursey mix. walt |
