HB-101
Has anyone used HB-101? It's a Japanese plant tonic constructed from "cedars, cypresses, pines and plantains."
I try to keep an open mind, but this sounds a little like snake oil. How can extracts for bananas be good for my bonsai? http://www.hb-101.com/

Re: HB-101
Looks like snake oil to me. I'm thinking they ground up cypress, etc. filtered it and are now selling it.

MC,
Where do you find this stuff ? You have to be quite an agressive web crawler!HB101 Reminds me of homopathic medicine. Put two drops under your tounge and never get a cold. It has that appeal of something aromatic and possible fruity. Ill stay with fish...

BUT! But! It will grow hair! I know one woman who puts it in her morning coffie.........two drops at a time. It will make your pine trees stand up on there roots and scream like TARZAN............and it is only $138.00 a pint, how can you live with out it?

Re: HB-101
No need to pay $138.00 a pint! We can raid Al's house and commandere his hot sauce collection. That stuff will grow hair on a witch's tit*y.

Any thing new here?
HB-101. The previous answers were full of doubt without any scientific evidence.
Has anyone used the stuff and what were the results? Do the facts bear out all this speculation?

I currently am using HB-101 on a sickly JBP. I got the idea from a post referring to a person in CA reviving a sickly JBP using HB-101 by Al Keppler. I contacted Al and he seemed to be on the fence about the product but did see results over time so... I got a small bottle and followed the instruction for misting foliage and also adding to water to watering. Pine has begun to bounce back very well.
The question would be would the pine have recovered without HB-101? Who knows but as a pessimist I think yes. I will continue to use it until full recovery or until I run out. Smells good too.

Especially at that cost... Let somebody else to the experimenting... Pat

Yes to all.
I have a secret formula that I make from hexol.... Think about this for a while. The extract from the neem tree was seen to repel insects so it was tried as an insecticide and it works. Anyone ever do cuttings from willow water? You can root a dead tree in willow water. A dieing and possibly weak and diseased plant in need of an antiseptic...what better way to get the plants needed antibiotics than to inject the natural antiseptic and recupritive powers of conifer oil. Also good for cleaning the home and has a nice clean pine scent too!
