Haydite vs. Turface

From what I am reading on each of the web sites from the people who manufacturer these products, am I correct in that they are virtually the same type of product. A crushed, fire clay product used for soil conditioning?

Re: Haydite vs. Turface

I went over to Orchard Supply and looked where you would expect to find it, with the bulk bagged perlite and fir bark and stuff that you ordinarily need to pull-tag and have loaded later. Of course it wasn't there. :

Then I wandered back to the fertilizer aisle and found it over there for some reason, opposite the pesticides.
Regards,

Matt

The OSH here in Fresno must have used the same plan-o-gram cause that is where I found it too, by the pesticides.

Re: Haydite vs. Turface

I spent about an hour looking for Cloud Cover - the antistress plant coating stuff. I checked the houseplants, houseplant fertilizer... After giving up, I started looking for something else, and I found it beneath the jars of gooey black pruning sealant.

I can see it now"

"Well Jake, I got the chainsaw oiled up and the blade's plenty sharp. Pass me a bottle of Cloud Cover"

Regards,

Matt

Re: Haydite vs. Turface

I just bought 40 lbs of Oil-dry at Sam's Club for $3.75.
It even has on the package "Improving soil for houseplants" as one of it's uses.
It is a baked clay product that is either very similar to Turface or the same thing as Turface. I have heard rumors that the two products are the same, just different marketing.
