Foliar fertilization

We've talked a lot about soil fertility and that got me wondering. How many of you foliar fertilize (i.e. add a little fertilizer to misting water)? If you do, what rates do you use? I'm trying this with my indoor trees and am pleasently surprised with the results. My trees seem to be healthier and a good deal greener. Right now I'm only using 1 or 2 drops of "the blue stuff (10-15-10) but I'm only guessing at the rate.

Re: Foliar fertilization

Doc: I have an injector on my water hose so all of the furtalizer that I apply is water soluable and counts as foliar feeding. I am currently using about 1/2 cup of 0-10-10 liquid a week. I don't know how much this is at plant level but it is very little. My feeding practise is just a little food all of the time. All water soluable even organics. Alittle bit all of the time. All of it is applied through the hose. This makes my feeding rigime very easy.

Re: Foliar fertilization

Rip,

Is this in addition to your soil fertility or does your watering system mist both the soil and tree at the same time

Re: Foliar fertilization

Doc: I am terrible about watering. In the summer everything get one watering a day large to small growing pot to tiny bonsai pot just one watering a day. Now that the weather has broken it will be one watering every two to three days. soil foliage all get the same water and furtalizer at the same time.
