Fertilizer Sticks

When I buy a new tree from a nursery, If it already has that time-release fertilizer, Would it be ok to put a fertilizer stick in there too, or to apply liquid fertilizer once or twice a month?

I wouldn't until after I had repotted. Time release fertilizer is triggered by heat and moisture, and since you don't know how much is in there, it's a gamble.

Regards,

Matt
