Re: fertilizer recommendations
Dear S6,
Thats a loaded question and sure to bring on the debate. My weapon of choice is organic. I use fish emusion 1/32th strength every time I water year around. I apply organic fertilizer cakes monthly starting after new growth hardens in spring. My cakes are: cottonseed meal--50 blood meal--------20 grow power-------20 gypsite------------10

Re: fertilizer recommendations
I use fish emulsion in an injector system. I use bio-gold pellets Feb. thru June. I use dyna-gro the same. I use tomato food from July till Sept., when I quit using fertilizer except the fish in the injector. I also use seaweed extract once a month year round as a foliar feeding. Sounds like alot of fertilizer, but how do you feel when your on a forced diet?.

Re: fertilizer recommendations
I rely mainly on inorganic material. I use Miracle Grow as a maintenance (weekly) fertilizer with Ammonium Nitrate added to increase growth during the spring and summer. As autumn approaches, I'll cut back on the N and boost P and K to get the trees ready for winter. I'll also supplement my pines with either Miracid or chelated Fe to maintain the soil acidity.
