Fertiliser Information Sought
I have been reading quite a lot about different fertilisers that should be used on bonsai at different times of the year to achieve different things. I would appreciate some information on 0-10-10- fertilisers. What have your experiences with it been like? What companies make it? And most importantly where can I find it in Australia? Thanks |

There has been some debate on 0-10-10 as of late. Go to Brent's site and read his take on his blog. Smart man who has perhaps the strongest horticultural background and bonsai experience one can have so his advice is very good.
Here is the link to his blog article.

I don't bother looking for or using a zero nitrogen fertilizer. I just use SeaSol (Natural seaweed extract) at half strength every two - three weeks during the spring and autumn months. SeaSol is a natural tonic containing most trace elements but no nitrogen.
It is used as a supplement to my normal feeding regime. It can be purchased at any garden supply outlets or even in supermarkets in a concentrated form or ready mixed.

There is really no need for 0 N fert. Plants use what they need at the time they need it. Nitrogen will not spur late season growth.
