earthworms?
Hey guys,
the soil my bonsai came in is organic based and i was recently poking through it with a chopstick (my attempt to aerate the soil as it looked very compact) and i uncovered 3 earthworms. My question is, is this a good or bad thing? In a few weeks i plan on repotting the tree is akadama mix. Thanks a mil Rhy |

Not really a good thing. It's not terrible, though. Earthworms can cause channelization in the soil with their burrows, which can sometimes cause problems with watering.
"Good" bonsai soil is usually too coarse for them to live in though. The change to akadama will probably get rid of them. |
