generally, full sun and protect from wind. If you have doubts about protection, morning sun and then move back to full sun in a few weeks.

Protect them from the wind. Wire it and even place some rocks on the plant, to prevent it from moving in the pot. The roots are very delicate after pruning! redhawk

Don't put rocks on it, wire it into the pot correctly, and if you are afraid it will fall over tie the pot down. If you wire and brace in the pot correctly it will not move.
Cheers, John

I'm guessing you don't have much wind there?!
Rocks will help hold the tree in the pot too, Along with the wire...."BRACE it with what?" OH wait you were talk about the tiny trees..Don't forget EVERYTHING is Big in Texas! LOL going back outside its 90 degrees now, gonna enjoy the afternoon!

Actually we have a tremendous amount of wind (we are out in the open country without trees, or urban yard fences at the farm). Use chopsticks, wood blocks, appropriately sized wire and proper technique and you won't have any problems. here is a picture of one of the small junipers we repotted this year. it is held in place with wood blocks (2x4's cut to size), number 8 copper wire and 4 chopsticks. Oh, and this tree had no rootball, it has fine loose roots and we removed all of the mountain soil and old turface and other junk it had been potted into previously.
If you can't prevent your trees from movin in the wind, how can you move them to work on them at all? See Chris' (BonsaiKC) article on repotting an established bonsai here at BT to see how to make a 4 wire basket that should work for most previously potted trees. Cheers, John

See page four (4) in the PSBA newsletter on the 4 wire basket as well. Cheers,
