CONTEST: grampz's entry

Some really nice prizes...I thought I might as well give it a go...Thanks to those who donated...

My entry is an Ilex vomitoria Stokes 'nana'...Common name is "Stokes Dwarf Yaupon Holly"...This tree is about 5 years old by my estimate, because it is definitely in the second nursery container [evidenced by root growth] and approximately 1 inch diameter at the purchased soil level, and probably propagated by a cutting...The tree was 12 1/2 inches tall from purchased soil level...I bought it at Wal-Mart for US $9.88...

The three view photos represent the label side, the other side, and top [taken with the pot lying down on top of a clay pot], in that order...

Photos in the second post represent a close-up of the label, and the receipt...

Regards
Behr

The comments at the bottom of this post were removed from the original entry because we had asked people not to comment on the entries a couple of times and included a specific list of the information required. Several entries had minor comments removed. This one had a short essay removed.

My finished tree is 11 ½ inches from the pot rim to apex, although the soil line is now 2 ¾ inches lower than it was in the nursery can…From past experience with the yaupon I know the color of the bark that originally was below the soil will change color and better match the rest of the trunk bark in about 6 months…The canopy width from the front is 16 inches, and at the widest point [left front to right rear] is 19 inches…It has already began to sprout new growth at the ends of the branches I pruned, and I really look forward to pinching and shaping the canopy as it fills in…I had in mind to put this tree in a ‘round rivet pot’ of about this same cream color, but found the one I had was a bit too small...Perhaps next repot, although I am not unhappy with this pot…
