[IBC] leaf spot on maple?

My trident maple has come down with a case of leaf spot
(Phyllostictum)...I'm nearly sure that is what it is after some research.
The lower branches particularly are losing some leaves (although it is
higher up the trunk as well). Everything on the internet says that it is
usually not a concern and does not require treatment, although this was in
the context of a full grown maple tree. Should I treat with a fungicide or
let it run its course? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much,
Conor

Williamsburg, VA

My suggestions:
Give it more air and sun.
Use Pro-TeKt. This toughens the leaves & makes them more resistant.

As Nina said, not to worry, but you _could_ look on it as a golden opportunity to do some leaf trimming. The new leaves shouldn't have it -- for a while.

I had a similar problem last year.

I read somewhere not to mist-spray these if there was little wind to help dry them off within a couple of hours - especially in the evenings. (Lack of sun and warmth !)

This solved the problem and the same tree has been a lot healthier this season.
