[IBC] Japanese Maple Info.

Can anyone recommend a good book that specifically addresses growing
Japanese Maples for bonsai. I've searched and found many books on
Japanese Maples but all have been written from a lanscaping
perspective.

Thanks,
Jim H.

Peter Adams did one a few years ago. It was: Bonsai Design,
Japanese Maples. It is out of print and hard to find at
reasonable prices. Check www.abebooks.com and search for Peter
Adams and Bonsai as the key word.

Currently, they have 2 copies -- One for $95.00 and the other
for $135 -- Kinda steep in MY opinion. But keep tabs on Abebooks
and www.bibliofind.com (part of the Amazon monolith now--alas) as
others may show up. They have several other Adams books -- some
for quite reasonable prices, and all worth having to one degree
or another.

Lots of articles in Bonsai Today over the years. Get hold of a
current copy and look down the list of back issues for sale or go
to www.stonelantern.com.

Hi Jim,

Probably the best book on the subject is the extremely scarce book 'Bonsai
Design: Japanese Maples' by Peter D. Adams. Perhaps your local club's
library has a copy you can borrow. It rarely comes up for auction on Ebay
but consistently fetches insanely high prices.
