[IBC] back issues and BCI 93
I had ordered 5 back issues of "Bonsai Magazine" (an excellent
way to get articles on tree species you like!) and they arrived today. Haven't digested them yet, of course (tho I'm working on it), but need to note that the September-October 1993 issue carried a detailed report on IBC 93, which was in Orlando. The pictures -- all in color -- of the exhibit showed some pretty marvelous trees, and I wonder where some of them are now. I think I've seen some of Jim Smith's Ficus salicifolia since then, and perhaps Ed Trout's Lantana is the same one that was shown this year at BSF ??There was a Rodney Clemens Pinus virginiana bunjin that, if it is still around, I would love to see 12 years later! Which issues did I get, you ask? Nov. 1990 (Satsuki), Jan. 1992 (Satsuki), May 1993 (Wisteria), July 1993 (wisteria), and September 1993 (Wisteria -- & BCI). I guess I'm all caught up on the back issues I need from Bonsai, Bonsai Journal, International Bonsai, and Bonsai Today. Now all I need to do is understand what I've read. I saw it this past March at her home.
