Adding soil to make a mound in the center of the pot (this soil mix is about equal parts fir bark, pumice, shale and Turface-MVP)

Placing the tree on top of the pile, and screwing it downward into the soil with a lot of pressure.

Securing the tie wires in place. The end of the tie wire is secured by twisting it near the base of the tie wire counterclockwise from it. Wires are tugged up and across prior to seating them. Pull back and twist down with the wire pliers, then pull back and press down again

You'll need a short length of wire secured near the base of the first wire to have a place to secure the last wire to.

Now rather than crossing the wires across the top of the tree like an X, it's more of a basket sling that secures the rootball itself.
