A close up of the root base.

This root system is the product of attention to the principles of good root development. Fresh well draining soil, a nice big grow box to develop radial roots, removing roots that grow down and field soil and stones as well as disorderly roots.

Tree is in the pot again being tied in.

I am a stickler about tying trees in securely to help ensure that the feeder roots develop undisturbed.

Nice stuff. I'm sorry to say I've missed all three Bonsai Cam's so far. I really appreciate the summaries.

I have a question about the flame style gingko... pictures are rather blurry to see the branch structure. I'll ask in the beginner section.
