Unhappy white mould at base of trunk

i have recently designed a bonsai from a nursery juniper. Part of the trunk that was below the soil level has white mould on it. Is this harmfull and if it is how do i get rid of it.
Cheers.
Miyagi.

Try searching on "white mold" here. Otherwise, post a picture if you can.

Regards,

Matt

It looks more like hard water deposits to me. True molds rarely develop on trees kept outdoors. If it is indoors it could be the beginning of a mold. Otherwise if this part was below soil level, some sunshine should do the trick.

Again there are a few threads available on the search recommended above.

Nice trunk, by the way!

Regards,

Matt
