vine weevil

while repotting a elm last weekend,i found 2 off these-vine weevil grubb for those unsure, this is the stage when theyre at the most destructive, munching through roots like a child in a candy store.if ur repotting ,take a good look in the roots to make sure theres no off these lurking around to make a fast out of your trees.

Don't you just hate those little B@5t4rds.

They love anything with fleshy roots. I found loads of them in my Yew last year and I now use a systemic drench on all my trees in late autumn. Kills 'em dead!
