Tiny White insects?
Hey everyone...
I have 4 bonsai trees, of various types, and recently i have noticed a good handfull of tiny white insects, about the size of a pinhead, crawling around on the soil. They are generally still, but a slight breeze passes over the soil, they move around a bit, and seem to dive into the soil. The plant does not seem adversely affected so far, and they have been around for about a month or so now.
Also, there seems to be small gnat like things, about the size of fruit flies, hovering around some of the other trees....
Im just wondering if i should be worried about this, or if there is a way to get rid of them before they manifest into a problem that needs attention. I just had a scare with one of my tree, my bonsai attempted to up and die on me a few weeks ago. It has since recovered, but i dont want that to happen again if i can avoid it.
I let all the trees start to dry before i water them, i dont have a set schedule, only when they seem to need it. There is moss over about half the surface of each of the pots, and it seems to be healthy, at least from what i can tell.
Any ideas?
