something is killing my ficus.
something is really messuing it up. i just started the bonsai art this year, i am 16 but am very focused on it for being at that age. i need to know whats making the small, round brown spots on the leaves of my ficus too little. also i noticed on an under leaf that there are small brown lines going out from the main vein of the leaf. this made one drop so far, if you can help me i would appreciate it. i have much more to learn and feel that i have come to the right place to do so. thanks guys.

Do the symtoms match the ones at the top of the page in this link?
"Tan circular spots with darker margins (halos) on the leaves, some of the tan spots contain small black spots in the center." http://www.extension.umn.edu/projects/yardandgarden/Archive-diseasewatch/myst01-2000.html

Re: something is killing my ficus.
Glad to help. *Despite the recommendations of that site, I would be tempted to try neem oil on the fungus.
It is kind of a broad-spectrum remedy. One package I found recently is called "Garden Safe Fungicide 3 * Fungicide * Insecticide * Miticide" by Schultz. *(It's .9% clarified hydrophobic extract of Neem) in a handy spray bottle. Neem is also available from ***Charley*** a board sponsor. search on PRODUCT:7820 or Keyword: NEEM

Re: something is killing my ficus.
Ah, to be 16 again! Trent, just remember to pick off the spotted leaves. That is most important no matter what you do. Ficus is a very forgiving plant, even if all of the leaves have to go. I also would test the Neem on a small area of the plant because there are some plants that are sensitive to it. If you follow good cultural practices, i.e. not keeping the plant in a too humid environment, it should recover just fine.
