I have noticed some needle point sized black bugs in some of my soil. the trees are fine and healthy, should I be worried or is this normal?

If your trees are healthy, there are no worries. Spraying insecticides before there's a problem is an invitation to disaster. It's not needed and could do more harm than good, since alot of sprays kill everything, good bugs included. That creates a vacuum that is nearly always filled with bad bugs...I'm not an opponent of insecticides, just have found that spraying them with no good reason does more bad than good.
For the record, bugs in the soil aren't nearly as much of a problem as bugs on leaves or stems. What you're seeing are probably mites. They're harmless. |
