Sick Juniper

I got this (and a couple others) juniper about 2 months ago from Home Depot, to
practice the different techniques I am reading about. It was fine up until 2 weeks ago. Can anyone please tell me what could be the possible causes and how serious is this.

I really see nothing wrong here, unless the brown needles are what you're talking about. It's normal for the older needles to turn brown; you can carefully remove them now or wait until they weather a bit more and just rub them off. The important thing about your tree is that the growing tips remain green and healthy and there seems to be plenty of new growth happening there. I hope you're keeping this tree outdoors

I see white...!

It may only be the flash, or some other phenomena, but it seems like there is some white patches on the needles...scale perhaps? If so a systemic pest control is the best to use.
