Powdery Residue On Oak Leaves

hi all i was just wondering if anyone had experienced the problem i am having with my oaks the leaves have a powdery white residue on them any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Simon,

That's powdery mildew, a pretty common problem with oaks. Rarely lethal, but it can disfigure the leaves. Spray with a fungicidal spray to clear it up, and be sure that the leaves have good airflow to keep it from coming back. Also, try to avoid watering right before evening - when you do that, the leaves stay wet longer and this encourages the mildew.
