No, but I've never heard of using it as an insecticide.

I have no idea about the effectiveness of potassium permagnate on insects, fungus, or other plant pests, however I have used it many times as a stain for wood...It creates a beautiful 'walnut colored' stain, and has been used for many years for gun stocks, furniture repairs, and other uses where controlled color is needed... Very interesting thought. Potassium Permanganate is used in thrid world countries to rid of parasites in water. People with ponds use it to disolve organics as well as kill of micro parasite. It works I have done it. I dont use it all the time. But when i do its to dip my koi if there is a problem. its very rare I use it. Will it turn the leaves purple?
I can say some people use it on aquatic plants with no harm to rid of parasite so it doesnt contaminate thier pond.. Guess we need a chemist.. |
