poinsettia with scale
I have been battling scale on my indoor bonsai. The neem oil; spray works on everything but when I spray the poinsettia it gets very unhappy and dropps all its leaves in that spot and I get branch dye back. I've had it for 9 years now be a bummer to loose it. The cat broke some of it and it looks raelly cool literati now since this pic. anything I can put on there that won't make the laeves drop?

Scale insects are quite large, and your poinsettia isn't huge. I think the best way would be to sit with the plant and use a matchstick to remove the things by hand.
I sometimes get a few scale insects on my maples, but just before the leaves come out, I go round and take them off by hand. It's easy enough and actually quite satisfying (moreso than using chemicals) :-) |
