Huh? Parasite found on trident!

Hi to all avid bonsaitalkers,

Dunno if this in i the right area but i found this interesting parasite growing on one of my trident maples in the graden, i know it isn't a bonsai but i found it to be interesting and so took some snaps, the parasite (is that the right term?) is also on a few on my Jacarandas, don't know if i should pull them out or not?

Anyway i find it interesting, i hope y'all do too.

Looks like a jasmine vine. Calling it a parasite seems kinda odd... but it will certainly grow around and strangle the tree, although it doesn't use the tree for its nutrients. It would as readily use a trellis or fence.

Jasmine gets the most wonderfully scented flowers. This one looks like a pink jasmine. The flowers are more delicate and don't last as long as the white jasmine. I have one planted next to my front porch, which just wafts the scent around and into the house. And the birds nest in it too.
