I don't know what you can get your hands on in Canada. Head down to the pesticide section of your local garden center and look for a systemic that works well on ornamentals, and ideally one that is compatible with acid loving species.

Most will have a fold-out on the label that will list species or genera that it is compatible with, or perhaps the opposite.

Something for roses is probably appropriate.
