June bugs stripping Japanese maple
I live in TX and already the June bugs here are thick like a plague of locusts! Apparently their favorite dish is Japanese maple because I don't see them eating my other plants althogh I know they do like to eat shrubs. These bad boys are stripping leaves like crazy off my tree. Neem oil works until it dries. I am considering disulfoton (systemic) but am not sure of the effects on a Japanese maple or on June bugs continuing or discontinuing to eat it. Any suggestions?

Re: June bugs stripping Japanese maple
I think I would reach for the Malathion under these circumstances. A physical barrier, like cheesecloth or a screen cage might work until the scourge passes.
