Insecticidal soap OK for scale on mini-jade?
It looks like my mini-jade in the office has a scale infestation. I found an insecticidal soap recipe online that calls for 1.5 teaspoons of Dawn dish soap + 1 cup isopropyl alcohol + 1 quart water that is supposed to treat scale pretty well. Will this harm my mini-jade? I don't know if they are sensitive to this or if anyone can recommend a more effectice scale treatment.

Aside from water, thats one of the safest Iv'e seen. Works well too.
Although if I remember correctly, the recipie I remember used denatured alchohol. If you check on posts from clrosner you will find the one I am talking about. Ahhh I just saw a post called bad wareting habit, Carl has his recipie there, check it out.

Thanks! That recipe looks similar except it also calls for vegetable or neem oil. I thought I read something about oils being bad for mini-jade. Is that true?

That part I am not sure about, skip the oil and you should be ok, maybe not as effective but it'll do the trick. Scale is easy if you aren't too squemish, pick em off and squish em, if they did much damage think of it as torturing them .
