Ficus Benjamina PROBLEMS :[

I am COMPLETELY new to taking care of my new bonsai tree I purchased about one month ago!!!

It has been doing so well with bright green leaves everywhere. It didn't really go through shock when I brought it home. It lost a total of three leaves the whole time. Up in till the past three days....it has been dropping leaves like crazy. All green leaves too. Some of them are curled up in half & others look normal. My poor tree is almost bare! Also, when I brush my hand through the tree, I look at my hand & there are crusty white/gray flakes all over my hand which came off the tree. So I'm not for sure if that has anything to do with the leaves dropping.

I don't have a clue why the leaves are dropping or what the white/gray stuff is over the leaves. It's cold here now, so I cut back on watering it, I removed it from the window, due to the cold draft. It gets light.

I'm just confused!!!! Can anyone help me?!?!?!?!

Thanks

Don't move it around too much find a place that has plenty of light and leave it there so it can recover. Sometimes they will drop leaves when they are moved to a new location especially from outdoors to indoors. Make sure not to over water. It will need less water the less leaves it has. As for the white flakes. That could be several things a pic would be a big help with that.

Also try this link http://www.bonsai4me.com/SpeciesGuide/Ficus.html
and http://www.bonsai4me.com/SpeciesGuide/Ficus.html

I think you'll find them both very heplful. Good luck.

Thanks a lot.

I believe it just went through major shock coming from a controlled environment (greenhouse) into my house. It's just scary being a newbie & not know what is going on!!!

I think i'll just him by the window & let him be :]

Thank a billion. I appreciate your response to this!!!
