Dishwashing Soap to wash out spidermites

hi guys

from a no# of members from this forum
ive learned the soap washing technique to get rid of the spidermites...

but is this technique used to wash other Pests off?

ie. aphids? etc?

or can it only be used on spidermites

anyone also have any ideas on what they use as a SPRAY type from the garden store?

thanks guys

G'day Eeiko...

From the previous post of CARL'S SOAP SOLUTION...

This works for almost any kind of pest that attacks your trees, including scale.

I do not wash off the spray and have seen no adverse reaction to the trees from this mixture.

As I said before, it works for me...

I used a dishsoap solution to kill aphids on my Fukien Tea this Fall and it sure worked - also lost half the leaves on the tree. I did about 3 treatments over 12 days and I think I got a little bolder on each treatment. For the last one, I was using several drops of detergent in a cup of water. Within a week of the last treatment, most of the leaves showed signs of extreme dryness and began falling. I put the tree in a sunny window, did an immersion watering and misted heavily for a few days. The tree actually recovered fairly quickly (but not those aphids - havent seen one since).

Here you go, im actually going to be getting a new squirt bottle just for this stuff. even though im sure that i dont need another one i just want one for just this solution

CARL’S SOAP SOLUTION!

INGREDIENTS
Water
Dish Detergent
Rubbing Alcohol

DIRECTIONS
Fill a gallon jug with water and add one (1) or two (2) tablespoons of dishwashing detergent and one (1) tablespoon of vegetable oil (or Neem oil). Shake up the gallon jug to mix the ingredients.

Fill this solution from the gallon bottle into a spray bottle and just before using add 1 to 2 two caps full (from the rubbing alcohol bottle) of rubbing alcohol and spray immediately. If you do not use the full bottle of spray, I suggest the next time you are going to use the soap/alcohol solution add the same amount of rubbing alcohol again, since the alcohol will evaporate. I store this soap/oil solution in the gallon jug for months on end. It does not seem to go bad.

Spray on plants covering all leaf and stem surfaces. You may have to spray from three to four times with intervals of three days. I have eliminated almost any kind of pest that has attacked my trees, including scale.

I do not wash off the spray and have seen no adverse reaction to the trees from this mixture.

Thanks again mom
