Curled Up Leaves on Schefflera

Hi

I have a schefflera (umbrella tree) with curled up leaves - I've looked in both bonsai and houseplant books and can't find any ideas. It used to be a houseplant (and it looked fine then!) and I've repotted it in bonsai soil (about a year ago). I wondered if it was over or underwatered but it looks ok. Also, it had a case of anthacinose (little black dots on the back of leaves) - which I cured with fungicide - my other schefflera's also had this and they're fine and don't have curled up leaves. This was due to me over misting it, I've learned from that mistake now!

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks
Rachel

Re: Curled Up

I'm sure I got this somewhere from this forum, I think TreeBay posted it. It looks right up your alley.
The quote below was found here=> Schefflera, Umbrella Tree
Quote:
Umbrella tree reacts in various ways to cultural
problems. Overwatering causes black new growth, leaf
yellowing and drop, or downward cupping of the leaves. If
the foliage cups upwards, or has pale coloring in the area
between the veins, the plant may not be getting enough
light. Odema will cause leaf spotting.

Re: Curled Up Leaves on Schefflera

Thanks, sounds like it may not be getting enough light. Very strange - when it was training as a houseplant it got even less :-)

Thanks for info
