Treebeard, the trunk is just starting to get rough bark. The trunk is in about three colors. you can just make out some of the juvinile green color, and the whiteish color is from the sun here. Elms imported come in all dark barked and look superb, one year in our harsh summers and they turn silvery. The maple is rather silvery too.

The dark area on the right of the trunk is the healed scar of the primary chop. It is healed over but is getting bark faster then the rest of the trunk. The tree should be all dark in color in about three to four years.
