What month would be best, for collecting wild junipers, Oregon, east of Bend 30 miles
I intend on collecting more wild Sierra Junipers, private property, in foothills, but would like to know most ideal month for doing this?

I never plan collecting trips in the foothills by month. Some years it is safe to collect well into May / June and other years (like this one if the weather keeps going the way it has so far) collecting season is done in April.
The ideal time to collect is after the ground has thawed (so you can dig a little easier, get more of the root ball) but before the trees have started to bud out. I have also collected after the trees have started to bud out (back before I knew what I was doing ) with widely varying rates of success, one year I got away with it and the trees survived just fine and the next I lost most if not all of the ones I had collected.![]() That said, I'm not sure how close to our weather you have it in Oregon but I'd guess its similar in a lot of ways.
