Trip To The Mountains, Part 3
Here we have several photos of some of the trees that were of interest.
One is a dead Red Spruce tree, we saw three similar trees, all dead. I know there must be some of these that are still alive, someplace in those mountains. A small grove of Hawthorns and two very nice naturally dwarfed Hawthorns. The buds are breaking on them. |

This is National Forest land and one needs permission from the Director of the forest to harvest a tree. I am working on that angle. It seems to be up to the individual director as to if or if not permission is granted. I know collectors in the Western part of the US do get permits to collect. I don't know if the folks in charge of this particular forest will issue a permit or not. I will find out.
