Trip To The Mountains
My older son and I went up to the Virginia mountains yesterday.
In this post I have included general photo of the area and then two more of a wild Blueberry bush we stumbled across. That is me with the Blueberry and a close up of it's trunk. The mountain has a vast bald area and the top covered with Red Spruce. Red Spruce was the only evergreen that I saw there, but there may be other types tucked in places we have yet to explore. I'll make another post or two of a few more interesting things we saw. The area we went to had an abundance of Red Spruce. Thousands of Hawthorns. More Blueberry than you could shake a stick at. There were also a number of stands of Yellow Birch. Plus all kinds of trees that I couldn't figure out what they were, till the leaves come out. All in all, a very beautiful day in the mountains. |
