Maple Seedling???
my mom has these flower pots in the back yard. and since we have a maple tree in the back yard, alot of seeds tend to fall in the pots. there's a little seedling in one of the pots (looks a couple of months old) and since winter is coming this little baby might die. should i collect it or not?? i'm not sure if it'll go dormant and lose it's leaves then come back in the spring like all the other fully grown maples do, so should i collect it now or wait until next spring??

You'd better wait till spring. Collect it before the leaves come out.
One is nice, but ten are better - the more you have the less you'll worry when the occasional one dies :-) When I collect seedlings, and I do it every year, I typically collect 20-50 at a time. You'll find that the weak ones die almost immediately, that some don't have good branching, etc etc. You might get ten reasonable trees from 30. So, you have your assignment. More is better.
