interesting guys: sweet are they any good for carving and deadwood, thats one way to take care of taper, fake it.

yes that would be what I'm doing for a 4"+ trunked sweetgum I'm collecting this spring I'm going to use brent's(at evergreengardenworks)method for ceders to reduce the height and making a formal upright tree with a large jin and shari. Although with the big oak I'm just going to whack it off and make it into an oak tree style kind of like the drawing in naka I in the examples of broadleaf tree styles.
