Lonicera

I collected this today. I have hundreds of these growing on my property. There are essentially two varieties of honeysuckle: one with large leaves and one with small leaves. This one has larger leaves.

Does anyone know if they reduce well and does anyone know if they heal over cuts well?

I admit, I have also been sitting around trying to think of what animal it looked like, but never quite got there.

Posts: 25	My experience with these things is that while they can grow tremendous suckers in the ground don't put trunk wood on or callus wortha darn.The resonse seems to be to grow around major wounds over an inch in diameter.Managing the deadwood and trunk rot is a big challenge.Retaining fine branching can be disappointing.Chose only the best trunks,bend suckers early for branches to look good,keep growing strongly,repotting aggressively and yearly is important. Good luck,Lenzes book goes over some details on this specie I actually have a couple of shots of a few of my honeysuckles in there. Crust
