Collecting Time

Hi All ,
It seems that spring has finally come to the north. With the last week or so being so warm it has finally thawed the ground so a shovel can penetrate it. But then it is again snowing and the temps are expected to be in the teens here and farther north in the single digits. I collected a couple larch ( pics later) and a couple cedar. If all goes well ( this is my second try) we shall show a series of pics of a cedar that grew on the carcass of it s fallen comrad. It grew exposed root, obviously to find the muck under it's benefactor. I found the roots to be many and fiberous which should ensure it survival. It' not a large tree mind you, But it's bark is old and mossy w/ lichens. The tree was collected in a zone 4 and in areas the snow is still knee high so I could only collect a few trees. So here is a shot of the root mass

Good stuff Jemmick, I like the roots too. I think you could pick either shot as the front, they both look good.

Regards,

TB

You got yourself a very nice tree there. Looking forward to seeing how it develops.
