i have a fuken tea tree that i got as a gift and it has no direction or "personaity". It is one of those "mallsai", i belive the tearm is. It has a nice thick trunk but it just bends dack and forth over and over, not real natural look to it. what i want to do is try and turn it into 2 seperate trees. one from the original starting at the first bend. The second i wnat to creat from the top portion; both have good potential. My real question is would it be better to try and air layer the top portion and then seperate once it (if it roots) or should i cut the top off and try to root that part of the tree seperatly. I have looked around but i cant find much on how to root them.
thanks peace |

Jim20, Generally an air layer would be less risky than doing cuttings. Unless the part in question is very small an airlayer would be my choice. go for it!
