Here is the one I made for myself from oak. You can see the color is more red. This comes from the application of stain in the finish and about 10 coats. This foto is from the Fresno show this last weekend.

Al, you do beautiful work. I very much enjoyed the 'how to' on the stand. It makes me realize how much work you put into it. You are a lucky man, two great pastimes that are able to be related. I hope someday my trees are worthy of contacting you for a stand!

When you made the loop, did you steam the wood strips before you sat it in the jig?

I was wonderinghow you built those. Thanks for posting this how to. I'm not sure if I could do as good a job as you have, but with practice I might get something I can be proud of. I will try to build some next year.
