bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

I've never actually built one, but I have found a great deal of bonsai stand inspiration from viewing Chinese kang tables. If you have a "quality" chinese antique furniture supplier nearby that carries these somewhat unusual forms of tables you might take a look.

All of your stand ideas appear to be complimentary to very masculine trees, anything for the more feminine?

Al,

I feel for your loss. My father who lives up in Montana is a woodworker and furniture maker. He lives by his tools. I noticed last time I was up there that he had put a sticker on his truck that mentioned that stealing tools is still a hanging offense. Sorry for you loss.

I really enjoy the drawings of your stands. I am drawn to the one with the tapered legs. It draws on some of the arts and crafts style. It is a simple and elegant detail. I believe that I may have recieved my first stand for x-mas. If so I'll get a pic and post the stand.

Holiday wishes
Andy

Al,

#2 is absolutely brilliant. I'd love to see an actual stand done in this style.

I like #1 and #6 the best. I like the simple ones.

How about a stand like this? It seems simple.

Hi Gary, Yes that seems simple enough allright. I like those styles of stands. I built some like them, a little more ornate. I will post them later, I have to take my wife to dinner, yea like I don't want to go...
