Discussion of the "All there is to know" thread
Hey Will,
You should take all of these "everything threads" and merge them into one "all there is to know about bonsai" thread then just arrange all your links by subject matter. everything u want about tools-link link, link, link everything u want about soil-link link, link, link everything u want about sunlight-link link, link, link etc..... The reason I suggest this and it is just a suggestion is everytime I click "new post" I get a page or 2 full everything threads containg links to pages I have already read a time or 3.

Ah,It just seemed it would workout better in the long run if it were one thread with chapters kinda like an ebook.

maybe rather as an article than a thread, if possible I would prefer to keep the comments separate from the article... Keeps it neat...
Stefan ... crossreference it with the wiki

Thats what I was thinking with my suggestion Node,
They could be made into one very nice and tidy theard/article/subforum format.I imagine it could even should be locked to comments after/before it is completed.

There are options under consideration for the best use of Will's very informative posts in this series.
Making it easy to access will be a priority! Thank you Will! Joanie |

Ok,cool. A few of us were wondering and were thinking something bigger than just some common threads could be made out of the work that was being put forth.

Will has done a great job to get this started, but I'm thinking this could be a more permanent feature.
In the long I'd like to see a feature where new links/threads/articles can be proposed to add to the "All there is to know" section. I believe it would need some kind of moderation though. There could be something a simple as a form like Proposed Link Title: Proposed Link URL: Short Description of Item: Short Motivation for proposing Item: Keywords: Have the form simply emailed to the moderators, they do a bit of quality control, and if accepted it gets entered into the system. If not the Wiki itself, the whole thing should be at least entered into a database table, to make it searchable. Automate the whole entry and display of Items. I'm working half-time at the mom. I'd be willing to program the whole thing in php/mysql... Would only take a day or so I'd guess... Link entry form for the website. form mails to email of the topic related moderator/quality controller (Categorize into what used to be the different threads) Front-end output consisting of an alphabetic Item Index & a search function, consisting of say a searchfield and a category select field... 'Related Link' lists are nothing new in CMS land... At the bottom of the page of any thread, this forum already has a version of this function actually... Just thinking out loud.... Stefan

Perhaps a better title might be, "All I can find on the web about..."
